Iain Sharp

Scholar, librarian, poet, reviewer, critic.


Iain Sharp emigrated to New Zealand from Scotland at the age of seven.

After completing a PhD at The University of Auckland on Jacobean comedy, he worked as books editor at the Sunday Star-Times and fiction editor of Landfall. Sharp is a frequent reviewer and currently books editor at Metro and manuscripts librarian at Auckland City Libraries.

He is the author of Real Gold (AUP, 2007) and Heaphy (AUP, 2008) as well as a number of poetry collections.
